The Germany Update
Jun. 18th, 2004 12:24 pmSince I started this temp job, I've had more contact with Germany than I did since I moved away. Yesterday, I received a phone call from a hotel in Heidelberg, but since that wasn't my department and I was not who the caller was looking for, I couldn't chat. It was all I could do to not scream "HEY! I USED TO LIVE THERE!" I remained professional. I was proud of me.
Today, I ran into Heike, who works as kind of a jack-of-all- trades with WorldTravel. Not only is she German (the name kind of gives it away, I know) but she'd been to Wildflecken. We had a discussion about the rollerbaden at the Wasserkuppe and visiting the monks at Kreuzberg. *sigh* It made me homesick.
I have my own cubicle. Wow. I can bring music (so long as I wear headphones) and I can take personal calls. Now if someone would just call me...
