Serenity...

Because my boyfriend has mad connections, I got to see the pre-showing of Serenity last night in Olathe.

Oh my god.

I haven't seen many of the episodes but I've seen a couple. Scottie Mac owns Firefly on DVD and I've seen them in passing while hanging out with him and Bruce. I thought I liked Joss Whedon before - I'm friends with his cousin, by the way- but Firefly, and now Serenity, blows both Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Angel out of the water. I'm a science-fiction nut and this series combines the grit of a western with Space: Above and Beyond, another short-lived series I wish had made it bigger.

Oh my god.

I'm not going to give away any plot. I'm not going to give away spoilers. If you're looking for a great science-fiction movie, go see Serenity. Believe me when I say you don't have to know the series to enjoy the movie.
