Danika_ni_sidhe
Danika started out, as so many of my "alter-egos" as a 2nd Ed. Dungeons and Dragons character. She was a prostitute/bard named "Danika the Charming". The game didn't last very long but I loved the name (I found it in a baby book) so when KANAR came around, I used it again, adding Jason's character patronymic to the end, making me "Danika Artanis". Still liking the name (and at that time still liking Jason), I kept the name.
Derek and I started dating at the same time I started delving into Celtic mythology, linguistics and fantasy. Neither of us liked Jason so I decided to keep the first name but change it to "of the Shining Ones". Thus, Danika the Charming morphed into Danika Artanis who transformed into Danika Ni Sidhe. I joined LJ after the last change and kept the name.
As a side note, my KANAR character is the mother of my NERO character. I had Danika commit suicide so I would have a solid ending to a thoroughly unpleasant character. I swear she took on a life of her own and screwed me all up. There you go.
