danika_ni_sidheI just read a report on MSN about the destruction of Mississippi. I heard yesterday from Bruce's mother that his home town of Pass Christian caught the brunt as the storm turned from hitting New Orleans and slammed into the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I can't imagine how he feels, how his friend Scott C. feels (Scott is in Atlanta helping direct clean-up efforts) ... I know that I'm dumbfounded. Just a month ago, we walked the streets of Gulfport, laughing, teasing each other, partying and now everything we passed... just gone.
His friend Chris didn't get out of Gulfport and as far as I know, Bruce hasn't heard from him yet. His biological family called in. His younger sister and her son ended up in the eye of the storm when her inferiorly bred "boyfriend" took them to Long Beach instead of Jackson like he promised. When they got to Long Beach, they were stranded. Bonnie (Bailey and Bruce's mother) will kill this jackass. She called around 6 PM yesterday, much to everyone's profound relief.
As of posting, we haven't heard from the Matthews either. I'm sure they're all right. Bruce told me where they most likely went; they're just going to need cell phone service to contact Bruce. I have family along the Florida Gulf Coast but I'm sure they're okay too. No one contacted me to say otherwise... plus, they had enough warning to get to safety.
